If you are a fan of the popular BBC T.V. Series Dragons Den you might have your on inner thoughts on the departure of James Caan from the show. In one hand we have a new Dragon entering who brings a wealth of knowledge (Hilary Devey) but on the other we lose a true asset who I personally feel can't be replaced.

I personally enjoyed the financial logic James Caan brought to the show breaking down numbers and making sense on the direction of the business. Then I also ask myself why did he take the decision to leave the show? Was it because of obligations as I failed to find any information on the reasons and as a fan of the show feel that I deserve to know the reasons.

I can only assume as some thoughts cross my mind. Firstly it is very possible that James Caan as I like to refer to it, goes with the principal "Time is Money." Being successful and as of 2011 is one of the twenty six members to meet in "The Entrepreneur’s Forum", he might simply not have the time to invest in new businesses as he has successfully taken a few on whilst he was in the show.

But then again, I can't help but realize that it is appealing for the show to introduce another female since there was only one female (Deborah Meaden) throughout the seasons. Also James Caan is a religious man who won't invest in any alchol related ventures as it is forbidden by the holy book.

You see, in the Dragons Den which ultimately has 5 investors referred to as the dragons, each and everyone of them are important to the entrepreneur asking for their investment, and losing a dragon not to invest in you, well, I can say it is something similar to losing a finger, you only have five! In this sense, any alcohol related venture will automatically lose a dragon and that would psychologically discourage such entrepreneurs.

On the other hand, there was a small argument between the two dragons Duncan Bannatyne and James Caan, this could have also influenced the outcome.

All and all, I can say it is a great lost for the show. I will try to contact Evan Davies the host of the show asking for any insights he can provide and will happily post his reply here once received. As for now, I look forward to see the talents of the new dragon and disappointed with the loss of a great dragon.

Ramadan: I agree with you. I like James Caan. I cannot add more than what you have said about him. However, if you want to watch a real enjoyment about Dragons Den, then try to watch the Canadian version of this program. It is amazing. I am so interested in hearing your opinion about the Canadian version.

Audai E. Louri: Thanks Ramadan, I've seen episodes of the canadian Dragons Den but I don't know why I'm hooked to the British Series. Did you know the idea of Dragons Den originated in Japan? But in those episodes, unfortunately it was how much a person could be humble and not how much wonderful their idea was to get their hands on that investment.
